Living with a family
While all of our host families offer the warm
hospitality and integration that makes Antigua such a desirable and memorable
destination, it is possible for us to offer two distinct standards of accommodation
to those wishing to participate in our Homestay Program.
Homestay Program A:
Some families may be able to offer accommodation of more
modest means or comfort. This standard of accommodation, whilst providing
all the necessities, may seem somewhat rustic to western tourists who are
visiting our city. It would be unusual to expect to have a private bathroom
available in such accommodation. You would expect your own private bedroom,
and three meals per day to be provided except on Sundays.
The cost of Homestay Program A is US $75 per week.
Homestay Program B:
We do have families in Antigua whose standard of living approach
and/or exceed that which western tourists are accustomed to in their home
countries. Antigua is a wealthy city; some families live in traditional colonial
homes in exceptional luxury and with all the amenities necessary for a more
comfortable lifestyle such as wireless internet access and live-in home help.
We are in a position to offer limited places of this sort to participants
in our homestay programs. In this type of accommodation you might expect not
only your own beautifully furnished room, but a private bathroom (in most
cases), the possibility of wireless internet access and the availability of
cable television. You would also expect three meals per day to be provided
except on Sundays.
The cost of Homestay Program B is US $125 per week
( with private bathroom)
The cost of Homestay Program B is US $95 per week
( with shared bathroom)
Wireless Internet Access $5 extra per week
Two People Sharing One Room
For two people sharing one room and a private bathroom: US$225 per week per
room.
For two people sharing one room without a private bathroom: US$180 per week
per room.
Homestay Program C:
Like program B, a little bit more luxurious with private bathroom,
wireless internet access, TV, and cable television. The cost of Homestay Program
C is US $140 per week (includes private bathroom, wireless internet access,
TV, and cable television).
For two people sharing one room: US$240 per week per room (includes private
bathroom, wireless internet access, TV, and cable television).
We offer an airport shuttle service from La Aurora Airport in Guatemala City
direct to Antigua. The charge for this service is US$30, and includes all
people who are traveling together as a single party.
